A professional floor coating can completely change the look and feel of a garage, basement, or commercial space. But before you start comparing colors and finishes, you probably want a ballpark idea of what the project will cost.
We’ll try to outline the typical costs for epoxy and floor coatings below, so you’ll have a better idea of what to expect.
Most of our floor coating projects fall between $7.00 and $9.50 per square foot before finish upgrades and other project-specific costs. For a 500-square-foot floor, that puts the starting price around $3,500 to $4,750.
The finish you choose can change that number quite a bit. Here’s what those costs look like for different finishes:
+$1.00 per square foot
+$2.00 per square foot
+$3.00 per square foot
+$3.00 per square foot
+$7.00 per square foot
$1.00 to $3.00 per square foot
Square footage and finish aren’t the only pieces that can affect your estimate. Features like stairs, step-ups, baseboards, and larger joints require additional material or labor, so we price those separately.
Here’s what those costs look like:
$20 per linear foot
$300 to $600
$200 to $400
$300
Two floors with the same square footage won’t always come with the same price tag. The floor itself and what you want us to do with it can shift the final number. A few of the factors that’ll help determine the cost for your new floor include:
Square footage has the most direct impact on the overall project price. At our base rate of $7.00 to $9.50 per square foot, a larger floor will naturally require a larger investment.
Cracks, damage, adhesives, old coatings, and other surface issues may require additional preparation before a new coating can be applied.
Flake, metallic, quartz, Simerrazzo™, and other finishes have different material and installation requirements. Your finish selection can add anywhere from $1.00 to $7.00 per square foot to the base price.
Coating stairs, step-ups, baseboards, and larger joints adds work beyond the main floor area. We account for those features separately when putting together your estimate.
The finished floor may be what you notice, but a lot of the work happens before we ever start applying the coating. We prep the concrete first, so we have a solid surface to work with and address problem areas that could interfere with the coating.
We’re a Certified Resinwerks Installer, and the system we use depends on the floor we’re working with. That may mean a polyaspartic base coat or a vapor-barrier epoxy base coat. Every system gets a polyaspartic top coat.
Your finish changes the installation, too. Flake, metallic, quartz, and Simerrazzo™ each require different materials and application methods, which accounts for some of the difference in price.
Floor coating prices depend on the floor, the finish, and the details of the project. Here are answers to some of the pricing questions we hear most often.
Our floor coating projects generally start around $7.00 to $9.50 per square foot, before factoring in finish upgrades or additional work. At that range, coating a 500-square-foot garage would start around $3,500 to $4,750.
Not in most cases. Our base pricing generally ranges from $7.00 to $9.50 per square foot. But the final price depends on the floor, finish, and other work involved.
Of our listed finish upgrades, flake coatings are generally the most affordable.
Yes. Both metallic and quartz finishes add $3.00 per square foot to the base price. For a 500-square-foot project, either finish would add about $1,500.
Simerrazzo™, a simulated polished terrazzo finish, starts at about $14.00 per square foot.
The condition of your concrete can affect the final price of your project. Cracks, existing coatings, and other surface issues may change the amount of preparation needed, so we’ll account for the condition of the floor when preparing your estimate.
The prices on this page can give you a good ballpark, but we’ll need to know more about your floor before giving you an exact estimate. Square footage, concrete condition, finish selection, stairs, baseboards, and other project details can change the final cost.
The prices above can give you a good starting point, but the best way to know what your floor will cost is to have us take a look at the space. We’ll consider the square footage, condition of the concrete, finish you want, and any additional features that need to be coated.

We had a great experience from start to finish. The team painted the interior and refinished the floors with an epoxy flake flooring system, and the results look fantastic. Communication was clear throughout the entire process, they showed up on time, and their skill and attention to detail were evident in the finished work. They were professional, reliable, and took pride in what they were doing. Overall, they did an excellent job, and we are very happy with how everything turned out. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for quality painting or epoxy flooring work.Posted on Google![]()
